I'm so happy this year - happy that I have Kim in my life on so many levels.
Merry Christmas Honey!

Kim & I, we spent last night by Donna and her family, both immediate and extended. It turned out to be a great night, both Kim's daughters were able to be with us.

Well anyway, it turns out Christmas was very different for me this year, but pretty much all around wonderful. To all my friends, near & far, met and un-met, I hope your Christmas is just as fulfilling!

What can I say? I've never been happier and at the same time it seems I've never been busier. But that's okay with me.

Had my birthday last week. Turned the big 45. Quite honestly, 10 or 15 years ago I never thought I would live this long. Why? I don't really know, but that's what I thought. Anyway here I am, and very happy.

Went to dinner with "the family" for my birthday....out in public even! Everyone once again was very warm and welcoming to Kim. That in itself amazes me, cause my family just isn't really like that normally.

Kim made me a cake and brought it to the restuarant. It was fantastic. I loved it, I mean what's NOT to love? It was loaded with chocolate and decorated in orange!

It was extremely YUMMY! Hmmm? Should 45 yr olds being using the word "Yummy?"

Anyway, then a couple days later was my "actual" birthday.
I came home from work to a nice bunch of balloons that Kim snuck into the house after I left for work in the morning. And a card, well a card that I won't show you all, but it actually brought me to tears! It was just so nice, thoughtful and loving.

That night Kim made me a wonderful dinner of chicken parm and stuffed shells. She also surprised me with these as well as alittle cake just for the two of us.

Yellow roses with red trim.....the translation is friendship turning to falling in love.
I totally agree.
I must say, I'm not really a flower person....but these really meant something to me!
It was a totally great - GREAT birthday! I can't even remember having a birthday 1/2 as nice! Thanks babe!

A day after my birthday we went to "THE PROM" - It was a fundraiser for cancer research. It was organized by my friend Danielle and her friends from college. It was 80's theme. We had an awesome time and they raised about $3000 which was great too!

This is Danielle and her sister Donna (you all know, hair salon Donna) and Donna's hubby Pete.

Although Kim & I were not named Prom Queen & King....or is it Queen & Queen?
We had a great time.....the Prom Angles that we are! You do notice MY halo is orange, right?

Its true what they say.....what I've been told by everyone for years & years, there IS someone for everyone. KIM is definitely MY SOMEONE....& MY EVERYONE!
Honey, thank you for taking that first step with us....and I am definitely ready to take the next with you!
I love you!

Can I just say......I need a vacation, badly let me add.

Things have been nuts here. My head seems to be constantly spinning out of control.
I know what you're all thinking, what can "I" possibly have going on in my wee little life.

Well its probably not much to some, but to me its alittle overwhelming sometimes. And since its MY LIFE, well I think I'm entitled to feel that way.

Work is nuts. So many new programs to learn and use. Some are handy, some are just a waste of my time. But I do them to make the "big wigs" happy.

Family, well we ALL know that they are nutjobs.
My Mom's sister got committed to a mental ward a couple weeks ago at 66 years of age.
She was sent there on like a Wednesday.
By that weekend, somehow she fell and broke her hip.
By Monday she was dead. WTF?

My sister, ya all know MY sister, she has yet to even say a word about any of it to my Mom. Not a single "sorry" or "what happen" or anything at all. She's just a self centered biatch.

My brother and sister in law, they are beyond words just stupid sometimes. They have 3 beautiful girls. My sister in law hasn't worked in almost 2 years now. She lost her job by being an idiot with her cell phone in the office. Anyway, somehow they got the electric turned off in their house they other night. Hello? Are you kidding me?

My niece got accussed of stealing at work and lost a weeks pay while it was all straightened out with the union. She was proven innocent, just as she swore she was. I believed her without doubt, but my sister? HER MOTHER, didnt believe her. Can you imagine? I'll say it again BITCH!

Kim and I hit a bump in the road, that lasted a few days. But we finally sat and talked it out together and things are good again. Thank goodness!

Thankfully I had the Tramp and the Princess to not only keep me occuppied and feed for the few days, but as always they offered many words of hope and encouragement. I love you gals LOTS.

The weather here was aweful last night. So bad that it put an end to the 25 year Dogwood tree in our backyard. We called it Brenden's (my nephew) tree. It would always be in full bloom for his birthday every year at the end of April.

Well I hope things settle down alittle bit for awhile, cause before you know it.....holidays are here. YIKES!

*Update- now I have a sinus infection and feel like crap*

Things have been crazy around here, but for the most part in a good way.

Between work, chores, errands and ME being the only responsible offspring of the family, the only one that makes sure my parents are ok - and Kim taking care of her kids at her house and then coming to stay here to end our day - it seems the days get longer and longer.
Am I complaining? Oh hell NO, not at all.

I guess it took me to be in my 40's to actually have some sense of maturity.
It seems like NOW I can accept the whole time management aspect of life, of not only MY life and the people I've had it in forever - but also of Kim's life and her girls. I think I'm handling it pretty good for the most part, although I won't lie I've had a couple of meltdowns. But I've worked thru them, actually WE've worked thru them together!

And Kim? She's just fantastic!
She loves doing domestic stuff and making people happy.
She's made me dinner many times. She helps with my errands.
I've made her breakfast, and it wasn't cereal. It involved mixing and putting on the stove!

The other week, we were going to visit Donna and her family, so Kim wanted to make cupcakes for Enzo and a cheesecake for the rest of us, Why?
Just because!
He loved them! Aren't they cute?

She even made cupcakes for her and I -

She loves doing those things and she gets help and spends time with her girls doing it.
This week she made a baby shower cake and cupcakes for someone at work and even managed to get me into the action too. Who would have thought "I" would be frosting cupcakes?

I'm tired, its seems like I'm always tired. But its a great tired!
During the work week I use to be in bed and asleep by 9:30, but now? Not so much.
We're lucky to be IN bed by 9:30 now - and then? Well as Donna has labeled it, we go from baking to "doing alittle sewing" :::WINK WINK:::

This weekend I have the WHOLE weekend off from work, trust me folks that is rare!
Tonight is my annual appreciation dinner for work.
Kim is coming with me! Its at a very nice Hilton and we are staying overnight.
I've been looking forward to this for a month now. I normally don't care too much for the outing, but this year I have Kim with me and even if the dinner party sucks, the night is going to end great!

Tomorrow we pretty much have to ourselves and then a quick driveby to my brother's house for one of my niece's birthday.....and in hand we will have another homemade cheesecake! Don't worry about me and cheesecakes, I've lost 10 lbs in 2 months according to the doctor's scale. Hmmmm? Must be all the SEWING!

What a GREAT month my life has just had.....

Have I said this already? Kim has turned my life around!
She is just wonderful, and I have no idea how or what I did to have her in my life.

Last night we went with my sister and brother in law to Shea Stadium for the Mets game, can you even imagine? ME at a Mets game? Well like I told the attendant who collected our parking money.....We're only here cause Yankee Stadium is CLOSED!

But seriously, Kim is a Mets fan (hey we all have faults) and I'm working on the whole "compromise thing" - not that I can't do it, just that I've been alone for so long, I have a tendency to forget how. So Honey, just try and remember that and the fact that I'm absolutely crazy for you!

So we had a great time before-during- and after the game!
A GREAT TIME!

We left the game alittle early cause the Mets were not doing so well.
My brother in law knew exactly how to lift our spirits though - as if the beers and margaritas were not spirits enough - he took us someplace "SPECIAL" on the way home.

Well hello boys & girls! Did you miss me?
I can't believe I haven't been here in almost 2 months, well I've "been" here, just not blogging.

So what's new and exciting in my life? Oh well I'm soooooooooooo glad you asked.
Grab a chair and I'll tell you a story.

Here's a story of a lovely lady I've met.
Actually, I met her years ago. I met her at the hair salon my friend owns here in town.
We've chatted numerous times over the years while at the salon. Nothing in depth or anything just your casual chit chat.

Well it seems that for a few months now.....

she has been asking questions to the salon owner about me.
Of course the owner, you remember her right? My friend Donna? Yeah, she wasn't catching on at all.

Anyway, this woman - who we shall call "Kim" (cause that's actually her name) was interested in me. ME! Can you imagine? ME!

So last month Kim did a driveby before leaving for vacation and gave Donna her phone number in hopes of me calling her. That was on a Saturday. Yeah, I let her sweat it out for a day! Not cause I'm mean, but rather cause I was chicken $hit and didn't know what to say to her.

But I made the call.
My life has changed ever since I dialed the phone.
Changed for the better without a doubt.
We spoke and texted on the phone the whole week she was on vacation.
The week seemed like a year before she returned and we actually went out.

We've been together ever since. I've never been happier.
She is great.
She is caring.
She is loving.
She is gorgeous.
She is kind.
She is flexible. ;0)
She has the greatest smile.
She has the sweetest laugh.
She has the softest skin.
Seriously, she is wonderful.

She let's me be myself.
She accepts me for who and what I am.
Good or bad.
I hope she realizes how important she is to me.
I hope she realizes how she has turned my life around, for the sooooooooooo much better.

I didn't hesitate to tell people about her.
She's met my family.....even the siblings!
She's met the tramp and the princess.
She's met my extended family that is Donna and her clan.
I talk about her to people at work.
I'm bringing her to my company dinner dance.
Have I mentioned that I am totally into her?
She is just all around amazingly terrific.

I use to laugh at people who would act and blog like this, but NOW I know there's a
good reason.
I am totally smitten with her.
I can NOT ever.....EVER remember being THIS HAPPY!

She's a keeper, and I plan on doing everything I can to KEEP her!

Had some beers & pizza with a friend Friday night while watching the Yankees beat the Red Soxs.

Then Callie "kinda" let me sleep in on Saturday morning.
Did the usual "day off" stuff and even napped!

Saturday night had a nice dinner with the Princess & the Tramp.
I knew I was at the right house as soon as I pulled up to the curb to park my truck.
I smelled garlic!

Food and company was all GREAT.
We watched the Yankees win another from the Red Soxs! Woo Hoo!

I brought alittle gift for the Tramp's mom who feel and got a couple dozen stiches in her arm.
It was yummy ice cream cake! What do you think?

This conversation follows.

Me... Hello?
Her....Tesa? I have a question.
Me....Oh god
Her....What size underwear do you wear?
Me....Why?
Her....Wide?
Me.....Well wide too, but WHY?
Her....I'm in Victori@ $ecrets and want to buy you something!
Me....Well thats sweet honey, but there is NOTHING there thats going to cover my WIDE @$$

But do teenagers listen? Hell NO!
And I'm glad she didnt.
These are too cute and funny.
**Be sure to look at the pictureS**

I couldn't be more proud of her.
"I know" the BS she had to go thru for the last 12 years of school, especially with my sister as her mother.

So for those of you who do not know this, let me fill you in with the basics.

My Mom and I have dinner together every Tuesday night.
Most nights we go out.
We take turns picking where to go and who pays.

Tonight we felt like having some good o' fashion, New Jersey, not good for you, deep fried hot dogs.
So we went to a longtime in the area hot dog place.

This guy - bald head - probably 250 lbs - was sitting behind my Mom and this was the shirt he was wearing.......(be sure to read under the picture)

I thought it was GREAT!
All the while we were there.....and he was there, I was thinking what the front of the shirt was going to say and what he looked like.
Was he a firefighter?
Was he a cop?
Well I was shocked and just BURST OUT LAUGHING when I finally saw the front of his shirt and his face!
God I wish I could have gotten a picture!

He had the handle bar shaped mustache and the left chest side of his shirt said "ER NURSE"
CLASSIC!
TOTALLY MADE MY NIGHT!

Illinois State Police Sgt. Brian Mahoney says the truck's driver was traveling from Chicago to Morris on Interstate 80 around 4 a.m. Monday when he fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into the median.

"The boxes came out of the trailer and boxes were ripped open," he said.

The crash about 50 miles southwest of Chicago remains under investigation.

Mahoney says no charges have been filed but both lanes of traffic remain closed while authorities remove the cookies.
