So Truly Blessed..

That would be me.
This weekend, unknown to me, was the culmination of something that as I understand, was many months in the making. Last night I walked into a surprise birthday party for me, thrown by Laura, which still has me shaking. It was in a beautiful restaurant, complete with Deejay, AWESOME food (cause we are all about the food), and 70 of our closest family and friends...
We didn't even get to bed until about 3:00 this morning while she told me about all of the planning and everything that made this night one of the most special of my life. There were OLD friends and new friends, friends who traveled great distances to be there (thanks Maryellen), and family...anybody that knows me, knows that they are the most important to me.
The menu was amazing..fried calamari, eggplant rolantini, zuppa de clams, portabello muchrooms, roasted peppers, mozzarella 'en carrozza, bread, salad, ziti.....then the dinner...a choice of chicken marsala, chicken picatta,swordfish steak, broiled fllounder, veal parmigian and something else..desserts were cannolli, tiramisu, sorbets, flan, cheesecake...wine..beer...shots..and cosmos...there was dancing and karaoke (thanks to a rather drunken Billy and Matt)

I was surprised to see my oldest and dearest friend who I haven't seen in over 10 years , Otis...
"T" was there, thanks for all the "behind the scenes" stuff that you did "T" - I heard Laura promised me to you for sexual favors...just let me rest up a bit first...

I know Laura will be posting pics, but I just want to say to everyone that came..thank you sooo much for such a magical evening.

Garry..Billy? I am the most fortunate Mom in the world..you make me so happy. Being your Mom has been a gift.

and Laur?

I am so blessed to have you in my life. I thank G*d each day for letting me love you, I don't know how to ever thank you for all that you bring to each day.. I love you.
You are my soulmate, the person who I was put on this earth to be with always. I am truly blessed.

All I can say is--WOW! The menu sounds amazing, the people fun and special, it's truly a lifetime memory. I had a couple of parties for my 50th and the one that meant the most to me was the surprise one--it was casual, just the way I wanted. (and only close friends and family) I did enjoy the huge one though too! Happy Birthday, golden girl!
