Still coming down off of the "birthday high" that Laura initiated last week. Tomorrow we have a party of a different sort.

We have been cooking all day for Billy's "See Ya Later" party...he leaves for Iraq on June 18th and this is the only weekend he had free. We have probably around 80 - 100 people here tomorrow to say "See Ya Later" to our Boo. Tried to make it all his faves... burgers, dogs, sausage and peppers, london broil, meatball sandwiches, homemade mac and cheese, chili, potato salad, macaroni salad, pasta salad, all kinds of fixins, spinach dip, and chips and dips, cheese, crackers, pepperoni, cake, homemade cheesecake and of course, beer pongwith KEGS (notice plural)...cause we stress the important things in life.

I feel I have been doing pretty well with this whole deployment shit thing, well, until the lady at the bakery asked me what I wanted written on the cake. I lost it.. had to call her back..twice

Time to spend some time with those important to Billy... wish us luck.. this is probably the hardest thing we have ever had to do...

  1. You guys really know how to put on a party, no matter what the occasion. Take care.

  2. Hey you,

I wanted to let you know that I feel a bit safer in the world knowing that your Billy, is going to fight the fight. Wether or not we agree its right to be there or not, he is a hero for going. It takes a special person to raise such a wonderful young man. There won't be a day that goes by that we wish for his safe return but all of us in this house, (Harrison, Wifey, our dogs, and of course me) are thankful that the world is a touch safer with billy out there.

Don't be sad, be proud, because we are not only proud of him, we are also very proud of the women who raised him.

  4. We'll be thinking of you this weekend, and in the weeks/months ahead. (And if we still lived in NJ, we would totally be crashing the party...)
